Bawdeswell Parish Council resolved to object to the planning application for 36 houses on Two Fields Way and submitted the following response to Breckland

The Parish Council remain concerned about how the Local Development Plan will affect Bawdeswell. They approved an approach to possible village development in any future Breckland Local Development Framework. A copy of the approved document is below

The Council also approved the following submission in response to the consultation on Local Development Plan Preferred directions and emerging site options

NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR

Notice is hereby given of a vacancy that exists for ONE Parish Councillor to serve on the Bawdeswell Parish Council caused by the resignation of Councillor David Shannon

Unless within 14 days of the date of this notice, ten electors for Bawdeswell (named on the Electoral Register) have requested to hold an election, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option as soon as practicable.

All requests (in writing) for an election to fill the vacancy should be sent to

VACANCY BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCILLOR

As no request for election was received, Bawdeswell Parish Council will seek to fill this position by co-option at the meeting of the Council to be held on

Monday 6th March 2016 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.

Should more than one application be received for the vacancy,councillors will decide the appointment by a vote, or series of votes, in order to obtain a majority decision.

To be considered for co-option, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  1. Be registered as a Local Government Elector for the Parish on the current Electoral Register.
  2. Has during the whole of the previous 12months occupied as tenant or owner any land or other premises in the Parish.
  3. Has had his/her principal or only place of work in the previous 12 months in the Parish of Bawdeswell.
  4. Has resided either in the Parish or within 3 miles thereof during the  previous 12 months.
